EL VIAJE

The Journey, understood in a broader sense, is a way of confronting the unknown. A journey can stem from necessity, desire, curiosity or simply the urge to discover. But it also begins long before we set off, because it involves imagining and projecting onto the unknown what we hope to find, as well as what we fear.
The photographs in The Journey do not seek to represent a specific journey, but rather to construct a personal interpretation of what the experience of travelling means. Each image begins with a feeling, a mental image or an association that I relate to the experience of travelling. They are, therefore, a way of materialising my own idea of the journey through images.

El viaje, entendido en un sentido amplio, es una forma de enfrentarnos a lo desconocido. Viajar puede nacer de la necesidad, del deseo, de la curiosidad o, simplemente, de las ganas de descubrir. Pero también comienza mucho antes de partir, porque viajar implica imaginar y proyectar sobre lo desconocido aquello que deseamos encontrar, así como aquello que tememos.
Las fotografías de El Viaje no buscan representar un viaje concreto, sino construir una interpretación personal de lo que significa viajar. Cada imagen parte de una sensación, una imagen mental o una asociación que relaciono con la experiencia de viajar. Son, por tanto, una forma de materializar en imágenes mi propia idea del viaje.
